James Cuttino Davis, Sr.

James Cuttino Davis, Sr, or “Jim” was born May 4, 1893 in Bethera, South Carolina and died Aug 6,1984 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was married to Clara Irene Player and had seven children live to adulthood and Dixie who died as a young adult, two died as infants. Jim was the only brother to serve on foreign soil in World War I. where he was wounded in France.  He also attended some medical school.  He later took his wife and children to the Catawba Indian Reservation to live and teach .  After years of serving in Church callings of organization, Jim joined his brother Duncan in Salt Lake City with his family where he worked as a mechanic at the local police station. Always found in a white shirt and tie, Jim was ready to do the Lord’s work.
